Dilip Kumar was born in Peshawar with the birth name of Yusuf Khan. He began his career with actress Devika Rani who was recognized as a very acclaimed performer. After the debut of Jwar Bhata in 1944, Dilip Kumar played a variety of characters during the the span of six decades. He was named as the monarch of tragedy due to his performances. Andaz, Daag, Ganga Jamna, Ram Aur Shyam, and Madhumati are known as some of Dilip Kumar's best movies. He has also been appreciated in dramas such as Deedar and Devdas.
